I didn't come here to fight I think that you know it too I’m just trying to have a good flight And I wanted to sit next to you You gave me two choices Puppy chump or a prick so aloof Oh when did things get like this Let's cut it loose I’m sorry that I let you down Well I hope you make it home tonight Cus I don’t know what’s happening That must have been some fight I’m not trying to Qualify the end Well Kriss Kross they made you Jump And House of Pain made you jump around That’s all good but I got a king-sized lump all up in my throat right about now And I know that I let you down Well I hope you make it home tonight Cus I don’t know what’s happening That must have been some fight Were you trying to Qualify the end I know you hate it most when I Want to know what’s happening I’m ok yeah I’m fine I’m not trying to Qualify the end Qualify the end You know I didn't mean to piss you off at all but Misunderstandings abound And I'm just hoping that I can Quality the end I can keep up with the clean up Because I don't wanna let you down Let you down

I had an awesome shower Then I looked down on the ground And saw that several hair follicles Had fallen from my crown The sight was quite concerning to me So I looked around Searching for reflective surfaces But none were to be found So I called upon my neighbors To see if they could see Knocked upon their door and asked If they would look at me They said that I looked fine But I wondered was it lies Because it seemed to me That I saw something more up in their eyes I stopped a couple guys on the street Asked if they saw anything That seemed out of place Perhaps a flaw They both said Nah brah in fact you got the juice I was at your show the other day and I got loose Aw shucks really Well that tickled me silly I shook his hand He smiled at me I saw a crooked tooth Something in the imperfection That was pleasing to my eye Went on my way Another day Another reason to be high The trees up in the sky Slightly swaying in the breeze had caught my eye I slowed my speed No longer need to wonder why Of course it wouldn't last Pretty soon I would forget But I wrote this to remember And it hasn't happened yet Because I'm a rapping vet DIY mantra maker Stay in LA like a Laker But sometimes I have to take a break And hoof it back to the heartland HQ And to the universe I'd like to say thank you So it went everyday Waking up feeling lame It was like during the night Someone had reset my game Took the marker from my book And I didn't know the page I kept reading the same chapter There was laughter there was rage I was told to act my age But what was that If every time I took a nap I was caught in a time trap I had to find a way To make revelations stay Because they kept getting swept away So I put them in a rhyme rap My drafts are always rough and never final Our farms take fresh ingredients Cold press them into vinyl Not a richie like Lionel But the words that I combine will Fuse together in your mind Like vertebrae up in your spinal column I am Golem being present is my precious We're all doing it wrong With nose longer than Ganesh's Nobody's on the guest list We are all paying full price So why should I not commit Know what I'm saying Roll dice

I'm an easy target I'm not hiding away When I see you out Then you've got nothing to say But when you're on the internet You start firing away Because I'm an easy target And I like it that way You're a fucking weasel Self righteous and snide When I ask you what the fuck You never reply Cus you're too busy hiding Behind passive aggressive jokes I gave you the benefit of doubt So I let it go Now you're showing up again In my Facebook feed When I'm excited about my life You make a sad face emoji Saw you at a party and Ih tried to be friendly But you're so fucking cool you wanna be my enemy What kind of person does that To another person When you make fun of someone for fucking trying That is the most evil thing A human being can ever fucking You make fun of someone for fucking trying To raise up out of the dust Yo that's fucked up Eventually you'll light their fucking fuse It took me a couple years to get over the fear and see if all my fans and friends would like to buy my art Because the work I'm doing every day is breaking my back and breaking my heart I cringed when I posted the link to my crowdfunding Campaign You took the time to yell at me You wanted me to feel some shame You know I did Yeah I was hurt I couldn't understand How you just couldn't move along you had to make fun of my band You fucking hipster douchebag Dick I can't believe I never said a single thing I let you swing on me my ego is fucking dead

about

The third official full-length album offering from Coolzey following 2010's debut 'The Honey' and 2013's sophomore effort 'Hit Factory' sees a return to the collaborative, party atmosphere of its predecessors by utilizing musical cohorts from Los Angeles and Iowa for instrumentation and general vibes but with a decided embracement of the 90s-birthed genre known as Alternative, this time leaning on Alt-Rock in particular, though still exploring the far reaches of the Hip Hop universe from experimental indie rap ('The Start-Up Son' featuring Fake Four Inc's Ceschi Ramos) all the way to a dark club homage to Ke$ha's Die Young 'Forever 21' featuring up and coming outspoken queer rap warrior Kamil Kardashian. However, the spirit of the album is most adequately voiced by the bouncy lead pop rock single and first track 'Qualify the End' which playfully references Kriss Kross and House of Pain in a melancholy yet up beat track that evidences the influence of Weezer, Archers of Loaf and the ever-present undertones of Velvet Underground.

about

Coolzey Fairfield, Iowa

Golden era hip-hop roots planted in black Iowa dirt are the foundation. Growth tempered by alternative era rock influence. This along with a love for the juxtaposition of the dark, horrific nature of life paired with a slapstick and comedic view of the world allow for a wide, unpredictable arsenal ranging from soul-spilling indie bedroom rock to wise-cracking battle rap and on to radio pop. ... more
