about

At the end of the 90s I made this solo record with my friends. I didn’t care about promotion or marketing or anything. I just wanted to record music. It was a very happy time of my life. I lived across the road from the graveyard, worshipped the sun from the roof of my house, followed flocks of crows, listened to Mississippi John Hurt, and made breakfast every morning. White toast, over easy eggs, bacon, and Maxwell House coffee. Yes, I drank “Maxwell’s House” because of his song “Coffee Blues”. I lived with Adam and Brian on Summit Street, near the Hilltop in Iowa City. We had a really small bathroom with a clawfoot tub that I loved. I tried to teach myself how to meditate using books and candles.
